Global Moments

World Water Day is Hurley's call to get involved with the global water crisis — here's how.

Waves for Water, a nonprofit founded by surfer Jon Rose, along with Hurley H2O, a subsidiary of Hurley International, is lending a whole lot more. Among other efforts, they’ve combined forces to create a DIY volunteer program called Clean Water Couriers, in which surfers and travelers take portable water filters along on their trips abroad and distribute them to communities in need.

For World Water Day, the group is coordinating an operation in which five teams of Clean Water Couriers are spearheading strike missions to five different third-world nations, where they will integrate water filters into village infrastructures.

It is one of the largest single-day water relief efforts in history.

A Simple Idea

It started with a simple idea: "What if we were to help 100,000 people on World Water Day?" From there, we assembled a crew and it fell into place to become the largest single-day water relief effort in history.

Athletes for Good

Sending Athletes and crew to four corners of the globe to televise our efforts over a 24-hour window is not an easy task. However, the resilience and commitment of our network of talent showed up in full force to broadcast and share the meaningful experience.

Supporting Product

We created a special limited edition t-shirt that would help raise funds for the event. Athletes and Influencers were also featured in the campaign generating more interest and global recognition.

04

True Impact

Not only did we achieve our goal of helping over 100,000 people gain access to clean water, but we also had a 4x increase in social media followers and encouraged multiple people to become future Clean Water Couriers.
