Birthed on the courts and adopted by the skaters, the latest Converse One Star silhouette is an amalgamation of converging sub-cultures whose history can be traced back through the eras. Now produced using premium suede and a cushioned Ortholite footbed, today's Converse One Star was not quite the same as back in 1974 when it was first released.

Once a popular variation of the All-Star Classic, the One Star Basketball style also was adopted by Skate and served as another path to celebrate creativity. Converse revived this icon for a new generation with expanded distribution making it once again shine.

An incredible partnership with Target shocked retail by creating a uniquely accessible priced sneaker and apparel collection in a democratic way. We expanded this mass appeal concept to other parts of the world showing a unique take of the classic American brand.

Dimentionalizing the icon a bit further, we tapped into the archives for inspiration for this"hairy suede" pack positioning the sneaker even closer to the hearts of old-school enthusiasts.

Crafting an Icon
As part of our First String Strategy, a limited number of hand-made ultra-premium One Stars were created by the amazingly talented Sak. Highlights included special packaging, leather outsole, and hand-stamped lacing. Incredible.
